We don’t have much time, so let’s keep this short and sweet!
This book is for anyone who wishes to learn how to make things with the Haxe programming language. No worries if you don’t know what Haxe is; the book makes no assumptions about your prior programming experience. All you need is your computer and a willingness to learn. Once you are done, you should have a few different small projects under your belt, including a fully playable game. My ulterior motive is that you understand how these projects work; if I am successful with my mission, Haxe should be your friend and not a foe. Getting to this point will be hard work, but I trust that if you practice and are patient with yourself, it will be worth it.
Experienced developers might wish to jump around the pages as needed; many of the initial pages are about concepts you are likely already familiar with. To make this easier for you, the book is separated into chapters that more or less can be read by themselves. For those just starting their journey or looking for a fresh start, we are going to start off right at Chapter 0, exploring why we program in the first place, some basic fundamental terminology, and setting up our computer to start coding.
